MOREHEAD MARCH MADNESS MINISTRY UPDATE

morehead-madness

The month of March has been an exciting month of ministry for the Morehead family! We have been privileged to preach and teach to adults and children alike. We led a student ministry training, a guest experience training and preached an exciting Children’s revival. We will be posting these recaps periodically to keep you updated on all the excitement that is happening in our ministry.

NEBRASKA

February 27th I had the privilege of leading the Nebraska Youth Workers Training Seminar in Lincoln, Nebraska. We had an amazing turn out with 24 leaders in attendance. I taught on the Krispy Kreme Teaching Experience. Leaders learned new and exciting ways to teach their students the Word of God. On Sunday, March 1st, I was able to preach for my friend, Pastor Philip Bowers, at The Potter’s House Church of Lincoln. He started TPH of Lincoln five years ago and the Bowers are doing an amazing job. I preached, “Oh, What A Difference A Day Makes.” The Power of God moved greatly in the church as we discussed that God could can change the outcome of our lives in one instance!

MICHIGAN

We are very blessed to have several ministry partners in our home state of Michigan that we are able to serve on a monthly basis. Below are some of the great things that happened with our partners and friends.

FERNDALE AND ROSEVILLE

On March 7th-9th I was with my dear flanyardriends, Pastor McCool and Apostolic Faith Tabernacle family. Saturday we had a two hour  “Guests Experience” seminar with 15 leaders eager to be good stewards of the guests that God sends to us. Sunday morning I preached at Apostolic Faith Tabernacle, in Ferndale and Sunday afternoon I preached at Roseville, AFT’s daughter work. In both services, I preached, “It’s All In Him.” God moved greatly as we talked about the revival that God is bringing to our churches but understanding that we will not achieve this revival in our own power, it must come through HIM.

On Monday night, we held our monthly staff meeting and discussed our MIA list. A few months ago, I heard pastor Tom Foster say, “You need to MAKE a list, PRAY your list and WORK the list.” Several months ago we MADE a list of over 125 people who have been connected to these churches in the last two years. We have been in constant PRAYER over this list and during this staff meeting we designed a plan to WORK the list. We assigned three families from the MIA list to each of the leadership families. Each leadership family made a commitment to visit the home of three MIA families, give them a gift from the church (baked goods made from the ladies department) and invite them to our special Palm and Easter Sunday services. On Easter Sunday 12 people attended due to the Making, Praying and Working of the AFT staff!

SOUTH HAVEN

Dr. Morehead and I have had the privilege of teaching on Wednesday nights at the Pentecostals of South Haven for Pastor Philip Haner. We have been teaching “I am a Church Member” by Thom Rainer. We have been facilitating split sessions with my wife teaching the women and myself teaching the men. On March 11th, I taught to the whole church chapter two, I Will Be a Unifying Church Member. On March 18th, Dr. Morehead taught to the whole church chapter three,  I Will Not Let My Church Be about My Preferences and Desires. This has been a tremendous series that is edifying the body of Christ.

FREE SOIL

I had the distinct privilege of preaching for my dear friend, pastor Raymond Haner at Pentecostal Assembly of Free Soil on March 15th. I met pastor Haner over 10 years ago at the Michigan District Campground. I was the Jr. High Camp Director and Pastor Haner was on our staff as a counsellor, sleeping in the dorms. As an early childhood specialist by trade, he was one of the greatest camp counsellors I have had the privilege of working with. We had an amazing move of God in the service as I preached “But God . . .” – Those moments when everything is falling apart  . . .  But God steps in.

BATTLE CREEK

I am blessed to go to my home church, The Potter’s House, each month to help oversee and work with the Super Church Kidz Staff. This month we have had many great advancements in our program. On March 7th we had 20 staff members meet for 6 hours and did a complete Spring cleaning on our kidz facility. The results were amazing, we found all of our supplies! On March 29th, we had a special Palm Sunday service where we had record numbers. Over the past few months we have instituted a weekly communication report, electronic attendance, name badges for each child and staff member. Feel free to contact us to help you set up empowering processes for your kidz ministry.

KENTUCKY

RejoiceMarch 20th-22nd we had an amazing kidz revival at Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Campbellsburg, Kentucky pastored by Rev. Nate Roemer. The theme of the week was “Rejoice.” Through puppets, action songs, and crazy illustrations we REJOICED in Repentance, Baptism and the power of the  Holy Ghost. Two children received the Holy Ghost for the very first time and many more were refilled – in kidz ministry, you always have to keep track of the refills lol. On Sunday an amazing spirit of worship anointed each family. Check out pictures and videos of the exciting event on instagram. It was a great privilege to be with my life friend and brother, Pastor Nate, and see the miraculous healing work that God is doing through him. After a six month battle with his health, he looked good and is well on his way to a full recovery. He recently has been cleared to resume driving. Thanks be to God for your mighty acts!

PRINCESS “ROSE”

ROSE

The highlight of March of course was that our “Princess” Rose Marie Morehead turned FIVE YEARS OLD on March 29th. We did not have ONE birthday party, we had a birthday MONTH! Sis. McCool hosted a party for Rose at the beginning of the month in Detroit and we celebrated her birthday again in Kentucky. Mrs. Cox, my wife’s administrative assistant, hosted a birthday party for Rose at Covert Public Schools and finally we had the “official” party at Chucky Cheese. The greatest part of traveling for us is to see so many people invest in our child’s life! Thank you for everyone who makes Rose’s life special!

WHAT’S NEXT?

Here is a look at the rest of our year.
