THE POWER OF REVIVAL

 A few quick thoughts on the power of revival . . .

 1. REVIVAL is RESTORATIVE . . . It turns things around.

  • Restore us, O God; let your face shine, that we may be saved! – Psalm 80:3

2. REVIVAL is RIOTOUS . . . It overthrows the opposition.

  • And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. – Acts 2:4

3. REVIVAL is RIGHTEOUS . . . It cleanses sin.

  • If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. – 1 John 1:9

4. REVIVAL is RAGING . . . It is uncontrollable.

  • And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. – Acts 2:2

5. REVIVAL is REMINISCING . . . It brings up the past anointing of our elders.

  • Remember the days of old; consider the years of many generations; ask your father, and he will show you, your elders, and they will tell you. – Deuteronomy 32:7

6. REVIVAL is REDEMPTION . . . Christ, the 2nd Adam, redeemed 1st man Adam.

  • For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. – 1 Corinthians 15:22

7. REVIVAL is REMAINING . . . It does not have to be temporary.

  • And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. – Acts 2:42

8. REVIVAL is RESURRECTION . . . It brings to life dead dreams.

  • Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live. – John 11:25

9. REVIVAL is REVEALING . . . It shows us where we need to improve.

  • Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting! – Psalm 139:23-24

10. REVIVAL is REBELLIOUS . . . It overthrows ungodly institutions like the moneychangers in the temple.

  • And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. – Matthew 21:12

11. REVIVAL RECYCLES . . . It gives old Saints a new place in the kingdom.

  • Even to your old age I am he, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save. – Isaiah 46:4

12. REVIVAL is REMINISCING . . . It remembers the past while pointing to the future.

  • I remember the days of old; I meditate on all that you have done; I ponder the work of your hands. – Psalm 143:5

13. REVIVAL is RECURRING . . . It is constant in a changing world.

  • Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. – Hebrews 13:8

14. REVIVAL is RAMPANT . . . It can be spread everywhere.  

  • But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. – Acts 1:8

15. REVIVAL is RELENTLESS . . . It never gives up.

  • Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. – Galatians 6:9
